Kathy Estes (Das GreenHaus Board President)

Kathy has more than 35 years of banking and financial leadership experience, including two decades with Frost Bank, where she served as Market President in Boerne. Her background spans commercial lending, retail banking, community development, and nonprofit board leadership, with a proven record of generating growth and deepening local client relationships.

Currently working for Texas Regional Bank in Boerne, Kathy works closely with local businesses and community organizations to provide tailored lending solutions and support long-term growth in one of Texas’ fastest-growing corridors. Her approach combines hands-on service with a deep understanding of regional priorities.

“I believe in a local-first mindset and strong commitment to community,” Kathy says. “I’ve spent my career building relationships in the Hill Country, and I’m excited to continue that work with a bank such as TRB, that truly understands what this region needs to thrive.”

Beyond her banking expertise, Kathy has been deeply involved in Hill Country civic and nonprofit life for many years. She represents TRB on the board of the Boerne Kendall County Economic Development Corporation, serves as Co-Chair of the Rotary District Global Scholarship Committee, and is board president of Das GreenHaus. Her previous service includes leadership roles with the Greater Boerne Chamber of Commerce, Kendall County Youth Agriculture & Equestrian Center, and BISD Incubator.edu program coach.

Robert Johnson, MD, MPH, MBA

Dr. Johnson is a Management Consultant and an Angel Investor. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Medical Surveillance and Monthly Report, a peer-reviewed monthly medical journal published by the Defense Health Agency. Prior to this, he held various positions of increasing responsibility, including Corporate Medical Director, Senior Medical Director of Medical Quality, and Medical Director for Clinical Innovations for Humana Government Business in San Antonio, Texas. He has held these positions since joining Humana Government Business in September 2013.

He retains an academic position as Clinical Associate Professor of Preventive Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) School of Medicine and continues in active teaching of medical residents. Prior to joining Humana, Dr. Johnson held positions as the Deputy Director of the FAA Civil Aerospace Medical Institute in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and was full-time faculty at UTMB, where he served as Program Director of the General Preventive Medicine Residency, Associate Director of the UTMB/NASA-Johnson Space Center Aerospace Medicine Residency Program, and Course Director of the Introduction to Aerospace Medicine Residency short course.

Dr. Johnson retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2005 with the rank of Colonel and a Chief Flight Surgeon Aeronautical rating. While serving in the U.S. Air Force, Bob held multiple positions, including General Preventive Medicine Residency Director at the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, Director of the DoD Global Medicine Course, and Chief Information Officer. He was also a member of the Board of Directors for Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center, in addition to numerous international deployments.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Preventive Medicine, a Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Association, the Past President of the American Society of Aerospace Medical Specialists, and a recent Regent on the Board of the American College of Preventive Medicine. Throughout his career, Dr. Johnson has been closely involved with medical management, population health management, global health, medical quality improvement, clinical preventive services, and graduate medical education.

Dr. Johnson received a Medical Doctorate from the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine, a Master of Public Health with Distinction from Yale University School of Medicine, and a Master of Business Administration with Honors from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is currently board-certified by The American Board of Preventive Medicine in Preventive Medicine and Public Health, as well as in Aerospace Medicine. He is also certified in Medical Quality by the American Board of Medical Quality.

Amy Story

Amy has been with the BKCEDC since September 2016.  Amy began at the BKCEDC focused on marketing, communication and special projects for the BKCEDC, as well as website management.  Over the past few years, Amy’s role in the organization has increased, as has her impact on project procurement, Member relations, marketing and operations.

Amy stepped into the role as President/CEO in the fall of 2019 and will lead the BKCEDC in its mission to promote business opportunities that will strengthen and grow a vibrant and diverse economic future for Kendall County.

Amy comes to the BKCEDC with a background in finance, marketing & law. She holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance and Marketing, as well as a J.D. from The University of Texas at Austin.

Amy has been active in the Kendall County community in a variety of capacities, with a particular emphasis on volunteer roles within Boerne I.S.D., the Boerne Education Foundation, as well as serving on the Board of Das GreenHaus.

Dr. Joseph Macaluso

Dr. Macaluso has been a resident of Boerne since 2005 and has longstanding ties to the area dating back to the mid-1980s. He and his wife, Renée, have been married since 1973, have three grown daughters, and are proud grandparents of five. They are active members of St. Peter the Apostle Church in Boerne.

Dr. Macaluso spent most of his career in New Orleans as a urologic surgeon and is also a former restaurant and business owner. His professional experience includes work with state and federal agencies, medical societies, universities, and both for-profit and nonprofit organizations. Now retired from clinical practice, he advises startup companies and brings valuable expertise in business, entrepreneurship, and governance to the Das GreenHaus board.

Jacques DuBose

Jacques DuBose is the President of Mixx Consulting, where he provides strategic guidance and solutions for nonprofit organizations and businesses, drawing on his MBA and background as a U.S. Navy veteran. His work focuses on strengthening organizations through thoughtful strategy, leadership, and mission-driven growth.

Jacques is a passionate advocate for veterans and military families and previously served as Regional Director of Grassroots – West for the Wounded Warrior Project. In that role, he led grassroots engagement, veteran advocacy, and government relations efforts across the western region, building strong relationships with stakeholders, policymakers, and donors.

With experience spanning donor development, fundraising, CRM and Salesforce systems, public policy, economic development, and team building, Jacques brings a strong commitment to storytelling and impact. As part of the Das GreenHaus community, he is dedicated to advancing organizations that serve others and helping entrepreneurs turn purpose into progress.

Ty Young MBA, CPA

Ty Young is an experienced CFO with a demonstrated history of leadership in the accounting and consulting industries. He brings extensive expertise in business planning, risk management, and financial strategy, supported by a Master of Business Administration from Texas Tech University.

With deep roots in the Boerne community, Ty is passionate about serving and strengthening local businesses. As Treasurer of the Das GreenHaus Board, he plays a key role in overseeing the organization’s financial health, supporting sound governance, and helping guide long-term sustainability and growth. His strategic insight helps ensure Das GreenHaus remains a strong, mission-driven resource for entrepreneurs.

In addition to his board service, Ty is an active mentor in the Das GreenHaus incubator program, working closely with early-stage founders to navigate financial planning and growth decisions. His combination of professional expertise and community commitment makes him a trusted advisor to both the organization and the entrepreneurs it serves.
