MEET THE INNOVATORS

Introducing the 2024-2025 Incubator.edu Teams from Boerne ISD

Are you ready to watch the next generation of entrepreneurs take flight? 🚀

Look no further than Boerne ISD’s Incubator.edu! Now launching into its fourth year, the program has over 40 students enrolled, which is officially the largest incubator class yet. We can’t wait to see the inspired ideas our student teams will generate this year.

At Incubator.edu, high school students with big dreams and bold ideas get the chance to turn their curiosity about entrepreneurship into real-world experience. Students are provided with education and experiences throughout the course of the school year that help them learn how to both create and run a business, while also  developing their problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Incubator students are not in it alone; a mentor is assigned to each team early in the development process. Mentors play a vital role in the success of these young entrepreneurs as they educate and guide them based on their knowledge and personal experience. Students also benefit from the constant guidance and support of their incubator teacher, coach Jennifer Breuer, who has been a tireless advocate for the program since its beginning.

Every year Incubator.edu has been a part of Boerne ISD, it has grown drastically. This year is no exception. There are 11 teams, consisting of 3-5 team members each. Although it is early on in the development process, every team has a base idea of what they are inspired to create throughout the 2024-2025 school year.

Meet the 2024-2025 Boerne ISD Incubator.edu teams and learn a bit more about their initial business ideas below:

Lily Alejo, Alister Clyne, Rodrigo Orozocco, Kai Koo, and Ethan Souza plan on creating an airplane drink and food tray, but better suited for use in cars.

Shea Gonzales, Annabella Anca, Aaliyah Padilla, and Gavin Richmond plan on creating a mobile app that allows you to more safely and efficiently store and access all of your legal medical documents

Mayte Nunez, Keira Schonfeld, and Heidi Francis are inspired to create a postpartum help kit to make new mothers’ recovery as smooth and simple as possible, while adjusting to their new life.

Marcus Matos, Alex Ross, Cassidy Breuer, and Lauren Ball are inspired to connect the elderly with younger generations to prevent the loneliness and isolation of older generations.

Bradley Gunnells, Anasofia Arrieta, and Colson Larson intend on developing a more permanent, efficient, and retractable windshield heat cover, so more people are inclined to use them.

Jack Marais, Brayden Church, and Joel Varga aim to create a small sticker that acts as a tracking device to easily stick on to anything.

Winston Tom, Logan Lewis, and Conner McLoy plan on developing lightweight winter clothing that still provide adequate insulation.

Austin Garritano, Dylan Hernandez, Ethan Jensen, and Caden Logan are inspired to develop baseball gloves that prevent gradual stickiness and moisture.

Andrew Stosberg, Jake Perez, Brayden Beierle, and Walker Hill aim to develop a coat hanger with magnetic attachments to limit the amount of hangers in your closet.

Catalina Martinez, Carter Thompson, Brooks Warrick, and Walker Affeldt plan on creating an improved neck pillow with additional support for more comfort.

Thomas Miller, Ethan Wolf, Peyton Davis, Tristan Onweller, and Jacob Shale intend on developing carbon fiber insoles made for comfort.

This article was written by Kate Deykin, Brinley Collins, and Daniela Trevino. These 2023-2024 Incubator.edu participants are spending the current school year as interns at Das Greenhaus, with one of their main goals being to fundraise for this year’s teams to bring their ideas to life.
